RÉSUMÉ

Education

I studied Pedagogy at the Universidad Nacional Pedagógica de Honduras with a focus on second language acquisition (English). I also have a certificate in dance from the National School of Dance in Honduras where I trained in Ballet, Modern dance, Jazz, Tap and traditional dances of the region. In 2015 I earned my MA in Spanish from Southern Illinois University.

March 2016 – October 2017

NEWS ANCHOR - LA RAZA RADIO STATION

Selected and analyzed news stories to be broadcasted in the morning show "El Perico y La Cotorra" and in the afternoon news section. Interviewed artists, politicians and community organizers.

Fall 2014 - Spring 2015

GRADUATE ASSISTANT - HISPANIC RESOURCE CENTER SIUC

Coordinated the Hispanic Heritage Month  which reached 2000 people in the  community of Southern Illinois. Helped with several activities and programs in CIE.

2011 - 2014

TEACHING ASSISTANT - SPANISH DEPARTMENT SIUC

Fully in charge of teaching elementary Spanish. Received excellent reviews each semester.

2010 - 2011

ACADEMIC PROGRAM COORDINATOR - COOPERATIVA SAGRADA FAMILIA

Coordinated the design of informal learning program. Launched the Cooperative’s educational magazine. Improved ties with the members through community projects.

2007 - 2011

PRESIDENT - AGALTA CULTURAL ASSOCIATION

Advanced the strategy, development and execution of artistic projects. Created and implemented the association’s management infrastructure.

2006 - 2009

ACADEMIC COORDINATOR - UNITEC (CAMPUS CEUTEC)

Designed the EFL Curriculum and the proficiency test. Surpassed the Department’s goal of increasing enrollment by 50%. Coordinated the development of lesson plans and materials. Provided guidance to students on academic goals and educational issues.

CONSULTANT - VARIOUS

Designed the EFL curriculum for several institutions. Trained more than 500 English and school instructors.

2001 - 2003

REGIONAL MANAGER - HARRIS COMMUNICATIONS

Promoted to Regional Manager after 6 months of teaching. Increased enrollment by 75%.

CHOREOGRAPHER & DANCER - DANZA LIBRE FOUNDATION

Created and co-organized the first International dance festival in Honduras. Created the first Dance Resource Center. Co-created the first Clinic for Dancers. Coordinated the administrative and academic organization of the dance school.
