My Journey

Thanks to my background as a language teacher and performing artist, I was able to develop several community projects with an interdisciplinary focus in Honduras.

As a teacher, I believe education is the key to prepare students to learn to think independently, shape responsibility towards inclusion and diversity, and lay the foundation of proactive community members who are ready not only for a job but to compete in the marketplace of innovative ideas. But I also believe in dance. Dance as social expression, educational tool and a place to build tolerance, beauty and joy.

I pioneered services and resources for dancers in Honduras while I was part of Danza Libre Foundation: I created the Dance Resource Center, International Dance Festival, and co-founded the Clinic and Rehab Center for Dancers. In 2007 I decided to establish my own cultural association which consisted of a dance company, a performing arts school (theater and dance), and a production firm.

In 2010 I received the Mnemea Award for Outstanding Artist from JCI-Tegucigalpa. Since my arrival to the US, I have danced with Southern Illinois Dance Company and Cabaret Decadance.
